Meet the Doctors
The physicians and staff at Chicago Sleep Center strive to provide highest quality sleep care in an environment that invites collaboration and promotes progress in both our clinical endeavors and in our patient comforts and conveniences.
Chicago Sleep Center’s team includes pediatric and adult otolaryngologists, pediatric and adult sleep medicine physicians, a licensed clinical psychologist, a dental sleep expert, and a certified maternity and child sleep consultant providing our patients with comprehensive treatment for a full spectrum of sleep disorders. In short, we aim to set a new standard of care in sleep medicine and strive daily to live up to our name as a Center of Excellence.

Michael Friedman, MD, FACP
Medical Director and Board Certified Otolaryngologist–Head and Neck Surgery
Michael Friedman, MD, is an Otolaryngologist–Head and Neck Surgeon and serves as Medical Director for Chicago ENT. Since 1977, Dr. Friedman has practiced as an ear, nose, and throat doctor in the Chicago area, and has earned recognition from peers and patients alike. Today, he is a professor of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Rush University Medical Center, and he is chairman of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Dr. Friedman is also a nationally known expert on head and neck cancer, endoscopic sinus surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and sleep disorders.
Claire Kenneally, MD
Board Certified Sleep Specialist
Dr. Claire Kenneally is an accomplished, fellowship-trained Sleep Medicine physician, board certified by the American Board of Sleep Medicine, and an active member of the American College of Physicians and the Illinois Sleep Society. Dr. Kenneally completed her Sleep Medicine fellowship training at Northshore Sleep Medicine in Evanston, IL, after finishing her Internal Medicine residency at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis, MO.
Kathryn Colman, MD
Board Certified Pediatric Otolaryngologist
Dr. Kathryn Colman is an accomplished Pediatric Otolaryngologist specializing in newborns to patients up to 18 years old. Dr. Colman is a former clinical instructor of the Department of Otolaryngology at Harvard University, and a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She is the recipient of several honors and awards, and has contributed research to several prestigious otolaryngological publications. Though Dr. Colman specializes in Pediatric ENT, she has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of all ear, nose, and throat conditions. Dr. Colman prioritizes patient accessibility and communication and is available for urgent appointments.
John Kelly, DDS
Dental Sleep Expert
John J. Kelly, DDS is a Chicago dentist and dental sleep expert offering the most advanced therapy for sleep breathing disorders from sleep apnea treatments to snoring therapy.
Currently Dr. Kelly is on faculty at the NYU School of Dentistry dental sleep medicine program. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois and has taken over 1,000 hours of continuing education, including extensive coursework at the internationally recognized Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies.
